The Challenge
The challenge was to continually evolve Nick’s website without compromising the impact of his photography. Having originally developed his site five years earlier, Rade was invited back to rebuild it as technology, expectations and Nick’s workload changed.
Now in its third iteration, the website needed to showcase an ever-growing body of work at its absolute best, while making it simple for Nick to keep content fresh.
With a relentless schedule and a constant stream of new images, the site has to support regular updates with minimal effort. It also needed to remain flexible, future-proof and capable of evolving alongside his photography and career.
Our Solution
We created a striking, responsive website designed to put Nick’s photography firmly centre stage.
Built on the latest open-source Umbraco CMS and recently updated to Umrcao 17, the site combines a flexible, easy-to-manage platform with bespoke features, including a timeline showcasing work dating back to the 1990s. A bold homepage and integrated Instagram feeds provide an immediate view of Nick’s latest work, alongside candid behind-the-scenes glimpses of his life on assignment.
Across desktop and mobile, the clean, minimalist interface keeps navigation intuitive and content effortless to update.
The Result
The result is a flexible, future-ready website that gives Nick the ideal balance between a polished portfolio and fast-moving social content.
His photography takes centre stage, while integrated feeds provide a constantly refreshed view of his latest work and activity. The site also makes it easy to manage and update content as his archive and workload continue to grow.
By combining a strong visual presence with straightforward content management and responsive performance, the new platform supports both Nick’s established body of work and the demands of his constantly evolving career.

Project Scope
Rade developed Nick’s last website and he was so pleased with it, five years later he invited us to rebuild it and more recently again in order to keep up with 'technology'. Now on it's 3rd iteration, the focus is always on producing a website that has not only the impact needed to show Nick’s photography at its very best, but one which was straightforward to update and which would allow for a constant feed of images from the relentless schedule of work he undertakes.
Solution
We created an eye-catching, responsive design but also added some interesting features to the site that reveal some of Nick’s activity behind-the-scenes as well as a timeline that shows off historical work going back to the 1990s!
The site was developed using the latest open-source Umbraco content management system. Umbraco offers the perfect mix of a well-appointed CMS with the flexibility to allow us to create custom features, such as the timeline. The responsive design ensures mobile users can enjoy viewing Nick’s photographs with easy navigation and a clean, simple interface. The minimalist design aims not to steal the show but instead allow the pictures to do the talking. The use of a bold,‘masonry-style’ homepage layout and Instagram feeds show off work that is hot off the press and some more candid images of Nick at work behind the scenes. The result is a site that gives Nick the optimum mix of portfolio space and fast-moving social sharing.
