Project: Corporate Web Site and Extranet Development

Fram Farmers member services form the hub of its business activities and, therefore, an efficient website helps to provide a backbone to the business.

The foremost objective of this project was to engage more broadly with the membership, encouraging them to adopt a wider range of services from Fram Farmers and moving the company forward through better communication. 

The first focus was corporate website, relaunched for Cereals 2012. This was followed by the members extranet, a solution that needed to be positioned as the primary point of contact for day to day activities.

This involved improving the visibility of member accounts and allowing those members to place orders online, update their details and submit their annual declaration. This element of the project required integration with a range of back office systems to ensure data was up to date.


The solution delivered utilises Rade’s flexible content management system, Enterprise Site Manager (ESM), for both the corporate website and members extranet. The system runs from a single admin area, making updates straightforward.

ESM provides a perfect platform for further development of the site. The combination of its modular structure, means additional systems can be easily bolted-on, and it’s flexibility allows custom development and integration with third party systems.

As part of the development of both sites, the client opted to include responsive design, meaning that those visiting the site from smartphones and tablets would be rewarded with a clean, simple informative site that was quick to load.
