Rade sponsor agri-food conference

Suffolk IT consultancy Rade is sponsoring the European Food and Farming Partnerships (EFFP) annual conference. Rade have provided IT and telecoms support to EFFP for the past 7 years, supporting both their headquarters and regional staff and over-seeing upgrades to their computer network and Internet connections.

This year’s EFFP conference, entitled Food GB: Stepping up to the plate, takes place at Plaisterer’s Hall in London on 2nd November. It will bring together business leaders from across the food and farming sectors.  Speakers include Steve Easterbrook, chief executive of McDonalds UK, and broadcaster Rosie Boycott, representing the London Food Board.

Rade managing director Jake Barton says: “The IT systems we design enable colleagues to share resources and highlight the benefits to be had from collaboration using the web. We are, therefore, pleased to sponsor the EFFP conference which will demonstrate how combining expertise from farming and food industries leads to business success.”

Stratagem IPM site refresh

Stratagem IPM chose Rade to redesign their website with a brief to reflect the clear and decisive service which they offer in the management of intellectual property. The new site builds on the themes of their existing brand while clearly portraying their full range of commercial knowledge and expertise. From start-ups to multi-national corporations, Stratagem has over 10 years’ experience of protecting and exploiting intellectual property assets through their attorney and patent services. Using Rade’s content management software, Stratagem will find it simple to update their website with news articles and newsletters to share advice and introduce potential clients to their skills.

New Gap-Year website

Web agency Rade has launched a new Gap-Year website for John Catt Educational, the publishers of educational guides and magazines.  Aimed at anyone wishing to take a year out of their studies or career, Gap-Year (www.gap-year.com) will help you plan your activities and share experiences with other Gappers.

Keeping Gap-Year up-to-date is vital to its success. As well as lots of valuable advice, the site includes message boards, a latest news system and a supplier update tool which enables advertisers to post their own changes.

For ease of management, the new site integrates with John Catt’s existing websites and their back office system. That keeps John Catt’s offline data current and allows them to monitor their banner advertising contracts.

Jonathan Evans, CEO of John Catt Educational comments “We have worked closely with Rade over a number of years and are impressed with their ability to fully build to our requirements rather than making comprises. Their knowledge of e-commerce and the advice they have offered has been forthright and practical.”

Tyre price comparison site grows

The Tyre Price AdvisorTyre Express is the latest company to join a new specialist price comparison site. Tyre Price Advisor (www.tyrepriceadvisor.com) allows consumers to search for the most competitive online tyre deals.  They can search for tyres using size criteria, brand and type information. The results provide the shopper with up-to-date prices and links to each supplier.

The site incorporates a sophisticated database tool which enables tyre suppliers to upload their own data to the site. Etyres, MyTyres, Tyre-Shopper and ValueTyres are already using the system, with more suppliers keen to join.

Editor of Tyres Online, David Wilson comments: “When I first came up with the idea of developing a tyre price comparison website, the leading players in the market told us that it would be difficult to achieve, not least because of the complicated nature of how tyre product data is collated within the market.”

“Rade, with whom we have worked successfully for nearing 15 years, have developed a system that is easy to use both for the general public and our supplier partners. We look forward to tyrepriceadvisor.com establishing itself as the key price information resource for consumers wishing to buy tyres over the Internet.”

Release date: August 2010
