Online shopping expected to exceed £5 billion in Dec 07

Figures from APACS show that the number of adults shopping online has more than doubled in the past 5 years and is approaching 30 million.

To help Christmas online shoppers stay free from fraud, APACS has launched www.shopsafeonline.org.uk, which contains information about Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode. These systems make online shopping payments more secure for both consumers and online retailers.

The new website shows how to sign up to these systems and contains the Paying Safely Online advice guide

Ufford Park site uses imagery to great effect

Ufford Park homepage

Ufford Park Hotel, Golf and Spa is Connoisseur standard resort within the world’s largest group of independently owned hotels, Best Western. While the Best Western guidelines determine the navigation, logos and colour palette, Rade has designed a new site which allows Ufford Park the freedom to use imagery to maximum effect.

The homepage features an animation of the complex and interior scenes of the health club and spa. These photographs can be updated regularly in the admin area, allowing them to change with the seasons.

Jolyon Aldous, Chief Executive of Ufford Park, says: “We are delighted with the new website. The feedback from customers has been extremely positive and we have received a number of bookings based on the site alone.”

Delivering the best for prize winning gardeners

When Marshalls Seeds rebranded their website to coincide with their new catalogue launch, they took the opportunity to highlight key features to attract visitors further into the site. The fresh design draws the eye to promotions, competitions and catalogue request link.

To encourage purchasing, the Quick Shop link stands out and allows customers who have already made their choice to fill out the order form and go straight to checkout. For those buyers who want to browse, a detailed category listing and quick search function are clearly visible throughout the site.

The Marshalls site was originally launched on the RadeTrade e-commerce platform in Summer 2005 following its sister company UnwinsDirect.co.uk. Allowing designers freedom in styling an online shop is one of the many attributes of RadeTrade which supports multiple storefronts and fully integrates with back office systems. Contact Rade on 01502 478000 to find out more.
