Instant access from the web
StoreTrader Live combines the security of local store operation with broadband access to all store data from the web. The StoreTrader PoS manages all the transactions at the till, and then passes them to the networked server. Using any web browser you can see the sales and stock situation for any till or any store, wherever you’re connected. So you get a complete picture of your trading operations. Instantly – and if you want, graphically. You define the key indicators you want and StoreTrader will send them to you.
Optionally you can use our secure server to store a copy of your data so that you always have an up to date backup. And to further reduce your operation costs you can ask us to monitor your store network, keeping it in peak condition of performance, and warning you of potential problems before they occur.
Hosted or local – you decide
You configure the StoreTrader system to match your retail operation. If you wish you can run it standalone on a single PoS terminal - perfect for small shops like community pharmacies, or kiosks. Or you can connect several stores to a store server at head office, linked to any accounting system, and manage stock and other operations centrally.
You can host and manage the store server, or ask us to manage it for you at our secure site. That way you get automatic backups and online support from our specialists. Either way, all the centrally-managed information is available to you from anywhere on the net.
Unlike web-based PoS systems, StoreTrader Live is unaffected by the speed or availability of the internet. Trading in your stores continues as normal until the network resumes and data is automatically synchronised with the server. Your staff won’t notice. And with StoreTrader you configure the system the way you want it, not the way the web provider thinks it should be. StoreTrader Live is the system you want it to be.
Reliability designed in
It’s hard to forgive a PoS system that stops when you’ve got customers to serve. StoreTrader does everything it can to remain available and responsive. It constantly replicates transactions from the till to the store server and if the network fails it carries on with no loss of service until it is restored. It never slows, no matter how long the queue of customers. And if a PoS terminal fails it will automatically restore everything from the store server when the replacement connects.
Easy to install, easy to use
We designed StoreTrader for the retailer who has better things to do than configure computer systems. Installing the software on the terminal takes a matter of minutes; product and customer data is loaded at the same time and kept in sync with any other source (such as an accounting system) automatically from then on through StoreTrader’s Product and Customer Link. You can use the Configuration Wizard to set a range of options for how the system runs, from what is printed on a receipt to what how exchange items are handled – and you can change your mind at any time.
Using the PoS is child’s play. The design is clean and clear; there are no annoying pop-up windows or garishly-coloured keys to distract from the primary function of taking the sale. So even temporary staff will be productive immediately.
Reconfigure and extend as you wish
You can set up promotions and discounts yourself, when you need to. They automatically flow down to all the tills from the store server, and become active on the dates you define. You can describe rules for how certain transactions at the till are handled – for example, requiring that the operator checks the customer’s age, or records a serial number for an item. You can mandate stock checks of certain groups of items on specific dates, and use a variety of reporting tools to augment the range of built-in system reports.
And of course, it’s easy to expand with your business. You can start off with everything running on a single PoS terminal, then add a separate store server and add more tills without any effect at all on the existing system, and install an Enterprise server to connect and manage all the stores. All in real-time, and if you wish all hosted in your own secure data centre, or ours.
Accessible from anywhere
Just because the PoS terminals have to be in your stores doesn’t mean you have to. You can connect to your store sever or enterprise server from any web browser- on a PC in another building, a laptop at home and even an iPhone or mobile phone on the move – to see all the system reports and graphs.
Works with your favourite (accounting) system
Getting data out of (and into) StoreTrader is easy, in XML, .csv files or through the ODBC link into MS Excel or another utility. Or you can access the SQL database directly with any reporting tool you prefer to design your own reports and queries.
To make it a snap to get details of transactions into your accounting system, StoreTrader’s Accounting Link generates postings for all sales, stock and nominal accounts, and will post these directly at end of day or whenever (and as often as) you wish. There are complete links defined to support this automatic posting to a variety of accounting packages, including Sage Line 50 and above, and the popular Mamut integrated system for small and medium businesses.
The Product and Customer Link facility helps you automatically update item and customer information in StoreTrader from the accounting or any other system, such as supplier catalogues, so your StoreTrader database is always up to date.
